Hoof Geeks 2025 Year in Review | Hoof Care Clinics Across Canada

As the year winds down and winter settles in, Christine recorded this message after checking on her horses on a minus-30 day. Cold, windy, and full of snow, it felt like the perfect backdrop to pause, reflect, and say thank you.

On behalf of Francine and Christine, we want to wish every Hoof Geek a warm and heartfelt Happy New Year as we step into 2026, the Year of the Fire Horse. A year of movement, transition, and forward momentum.

Looking Back on an Incredible 2025

When Hoof Geeks first began, travelling coast to coast across Canada felt like a dream we joked about more than planned for. Early clinics were close to home, then slowly expanded. Manitoba led to Saskatchewan, Saskatchewan to British Columbia, then Alberta, and finally, in 2025, the East Coast.

This past year was a powerful reminder of just how vast and beautiful Canada is. From the Prairies to the mountains, from the West Coast to Newfoundland, every clinic brought new conversations, new questions, and new connections with horse owners who care deeply about their horses’ long-term soundness.

To everyone who hosted, attended, travelled, and supported Hoof Geeks this year, especially our East Coast students who welcomed us so warmly, THANK YOU! We are deeply grateful for the opportunity to teach, learn, and grow alongside you.

Why Hoof Geeks Clinics Matter

Many students arrive at their first Hoof Geeks clinic unsure if trimming their own horse is within their skill set. That hesitation is completely normal. What most people discover, often within the first day, is that hoof care is less about strength or perfection and more about understanding, prevention, and consistency.

The way we teach trimming is proactive. It’s about staying ahead of distortion, reducing the risk of lameness, and setting the horse up for long-term success rather than waiting for problems to appear.

We’ve taught students as young as 12 and as experienced as their late 70s. One of our favourite stories is a student who attended her first clinic at 76 and is still trimming her horses years later. The common thread is not age or background, but willingness to learn and stay curious.

A Clinic Model Designed for Real Learning

Hoof care is layered. There is a lot of information packed into four days, and most students retain only a portion of it the first time through. That’s why we’ve built our clinic model around ongoing learning.

When you attend a full four-day Hoof Geeks clinic, you’re not just paying for one experience—you’re investing in continued education. For the rest of the time we are teaching and travelling, you can return to any Hoof Geeks clinic for just $50 per day, as many times as you like.

This allows students to revisit material, deepen their understanding, refine their skills, and build confidence over time. Your horses are worth that investment.

In 2025, Hoof Geeks taught the same core, science-based hoof care curriculum across multiple provinces, ensuring consistency and quality at every clinic, no matter the location.

Looking Ahead to 2026

Before heading west again, we’ll be hosting a clinic at Francine’s place in April for our East Coast students who asked for another opportunity to attend. From there, we’ll begin our Western tour with the Horse Expo in Red Deer, Alberta, followed by clinics throughout Alberta, Northern British Columbia, Vancouver Island, and back through the Prairies before returning home to Manitoba.

To those we’ve met before, we can’t wait to see you again. To those we haven’t met yet, we’re really looking forward to it.

Here’s to warmth, movement, and another year of learning together.

XO Much love from Christine & Francine aka the Hoof Geeks!
